Job Description

Qualification - Diploma / Degree in Safety from RLI institute

  • To make arrangements for safety demonstrations and mock drills to train the manpower to fight against any emergency and also meet out the statutory requirements.
  • To observe and identify the unsafe working conditions and hazards and coordinate with the production department for the implementation of safety policies.
  • To co-ordinate with the utility and maintenance department to ensure hydrant pressure and maintenance of fire fighting equipment.
  • To ensure execution of work permits and co-ordinate with utility and electrical department for isolation of the area.
  • To ensure availability and refilling of fire fighting equipment.
  • To prepare the SOPs and ensure its implementation and maintain all other documentation as per the GMP, ISO and other regulatory guidelines.
  • To ensure the upkeep of all the safety instructions and MSDS boards displayed at all process areas.
  • To maintain sufficient inventory levels to ensure availability of PPEs to all employees
  • To impart training to employees regarding safety aspects.
  • To provide feedback to his superiors regarding the performance of his subordinates
  • To impart training to sub-ordinates as per the identified the training needs and keep the staff
  • To undertake any other duties as appropriate within their competence, as required by their
  • Head from time to time.
  • Supervising Personnel for effective implementation of the EHS program into the work process.
  • Auditing his/her area of control for improvement w.r.t. EHS
  • Label all containers of hazardous materials properly
  • implement specific standard operating procedures in the workplace
  • Identifying the need for engineering / administrative controls in his area of control, to improve EHS
  • Training his subordinates for improved safety
  • Informing his / her superiors about the safety requirements (equipment etc.)
  • Ensure that EHS rules/regulations are followed fully during work processes.
  • Compliance of the EHS audits.
  • Ensure that all unsafe acts/incidents/accidents are reported as early as possible to his area manager in the standard format as soon as possible.
